This is getting hard....

It is getting very hard to keep my chin up at this job. It feels like everything is set up to make you fail. They keep saying to just wait and it will get better, but damn!!!! NEVER enough staff, which means I spend my morning med pass helping the nursing assistants get up their patients,(and of course they cna't help me with mMY job in return) then I am behind. Then the computers are soooooo slow and we have to do our physicians orders and nurses notes on them, then the printer is messed up and you have to get up and go to it every time to load the kind of paper you want to used instead of just telling it which "drawer" to use. Then when it does print an order they are printing off center which means we have to hand cut them (pain in the ass)no one can seem to put a chart where it belongs....so you spend too much time just looking for charts. Evening shoft dosen't seem to be doing ANYTHING.....AHHHHH! Then at 9am when I still did not have enpugh nurses assistants, here come four nurses (called the "start up team") to come to the station to check all our work from the day before!!! Did they help with breakfast, feed a patient, answer a call light????? So I had a break down at work and was yelling that this is NOT OK!!! This place is a mess and I made a terrible decision to work there. Yeah, way to go Jenn, get yourself fired. But when the administrator came in I went and spoke to her and vented and cried out my frustratations with this place and left her office feeling a littler better, if only because I spoke my mind with out fear and at least I didn't get fired. I know that I am going to have to improve my attitude, like shut up or quit already, but I do really want to be there. I would feel good if I stuck it out and helped the place become a better place. UH OH gotta run the snow is really coming down and I NEED to go to the store for TRIPLE COUPONS today.

Sorry to hear it's not going as pleasantly as you would like. I think you've got the right attitude when you say you'd like to stick around and help make the place better. But also know your job is in demand and if it seems after a while like there's no improvement, start looking for something different.

Luvs you!
