I go in to sign my offer letter on Wednesday and go for a drug test and background check, too. I am going to give my two weeks notice this weekend. I have wavered back and forth between waiting till I sign the letter and doing it now. The 100% responsible thing to do would be to wait but she said they will at least meet my minimum salary requirement and it seems I will be out of a job after 10/24 anyways (that is my guess anyways), new job orientation starts on 10/20 and I would rather not do doubles on 10/18 and 10/19 then possibly work all week too, and I just hate this company, so even if something unforeseen happens and the job falls through it is just even more motivation to get out there and find something else. Financially if I work through 10/12 (next weekend) then we will make ends meet just fine and I will just need to have a paycheck by the end of November, I am sure that I will get something. A three paycheck month makes this the best month for this transition. The stars are aligned for me I guess.....
I can't wait to meet with HR and the DON this weekend. It doesn't matter what they offer me, I am through with this company, they have jerked me around for the last time. I don't know how they have any nurses that have been there for so many years, but they do. They are constantly changing things. Uncertainty is not a good work environment. You want to feel like your job is secure, but here it seems that you are always feeling like they are LOOKING for reasons to get rid of people, or just pain screw with people for no reason. What about employee retention....loyalty?
So for all these reasons I am chosing not to wait for my offer letter to give notice, responsible or not.......Like I said if this one falls through, it is just motivation to find another job quickly.
