Peg and Craig were involved in a car accident Sunday afternoon. Due to their conditions, I was not even notified until well into the evening. I left work and met my Dad at my house so we could go together. They were in Washington County Hospital which is about 45 minutes from my house and well over an hour from my work. We got to the hospital at 10 pm and they were no longer in the ER, they had been admitted, Craig to the ICU and Peg to the trauma floor. Peg has less physical injuries, she had a long period of confusion that has seemed to clear up for the most part now, although she cannot remember anything since about Friday afternoon until about the time she was admitted to the hospital. For that reason she could not tell them how to reach me. So it took the hospital awhile to contact me. Craig is in ICU with six broken ribs and one of them lacerated his spleen. He is having some internal bleeding that they are monitoring and they may have to remove the spleen, but they would like to avoid surgery due to his extensive allergies to antibiotics. He has required extensive pain management with an epidural to keep him comfortable. He has been told that he will probably be in the hospital for the rest of the week. We are hoping that Peg will come home today. My Mom will stay with her during her recovery and at least until Craig is discharged. Keep them in your prayers.
